Department of Human Life Studies
At The Department of Human Life Studies, students can choose subjects from the three fields of Life Science, Social Welfare and Local Environment.
The field of Life Science consists of subjects such as food, clothing and shelter and life management, and students learn the knowledge and skills to ensure the enrichment of people’s lives.
The field of Social Welfare consists of subjects such as the elderly, handicapped people, child welfare and social security, and students learn how to help and support them.
The field of Local Environment consists of subjects such as habitat and culture, local community and development assistance, and students learn concepts and techniques to resolve local issues.
Students learn freely across these three fields following their interests and concerns, and may choose to specialize in some courses, or decide how to progress after graduation.
The department (of Human Life Studies) focuses on fostering the communication and presentation skills that are a common requirement in all three fields.
Through this study of lifestyle design, students can obtain practical skills beneficial to life.
